Spring that absord and store energy are known as Extension Springs. These springs are designed with a variety of ends allowing adaptation of the spring to fit within the project requirements. Most Extension Springs are produced with an internal force that holds the coils tightly together. This internal force is called the initial tension and can be varied, within limits, to accommodate your needs. Unlike a Compression Spring which has zero load at zero deflection, an Extension spring can have a predetermined load at zero deflection. Our Extension Spring capabilities range in wire size of 0.012" to 0.562". |
